How to Clean a Yoga Mat, Naturally

You don’t need fancy wipes or a $12 bottle of yoga mat spray to clean your yoga mat.

I have 2 standard yoga mats. I wash them separately by throwing them in the washing machine once a month…small load, cold water, 2 minute gentle cycle.

I add a ¼ cup of vinegar and 6-8 drops of eucalyptus essential oil to the wash cycle. That’s it…no detergent.

Hang dry…it usually takes 12-24 hours to dry fully.

To maintain the freshness between machine washes, add 1/4 cup of vinegar and 6-8 drops of essential oil to a spray bottle. Spray the mat once a week and wipe with a damp cloth. Simple.
