Fresh-Pressed Creamy Orange Smoothie

This is my fresher, happier, lighter version of an old school Orange Julius…you know, back in the day…the citrusy, creamy goodness  from the mall.

I used Minneola tangelos. Tangelos are a tangerine-grapefruit hybrid. The peak season for tangelos is January through March.

Fresh-Pressed Creamy Orange Smoothie
juice from 3 tangelos (or oranges)
1/2 cup unsweetened plain almond milk
1 tsp. honey
1/4 tsp. vanilla extract
4 or 5 ice cubes

Juice the tangelos.
Add the tangelo juice, almond milk, honey, vanilla extract, and ice to your blender.
Blend well.
Pour into a glass and enjoy.
