The Scented Home: Aziz Light Apothecary Beeswax Candles

I used to have a love affair with Henri Bendel candles, particularly the Amber (for the Fall/Winter) and Blue Iris (for the Spring/Summer) scents. They smell simply amazing, but they are not natural, clean burning candles and I had to come to terms with that fact. One of my PYG resolutions is to replace my paraffin wax candles with natural home scent options. After a little research on soy vs. beeswax vs. palm wax, I decided to replace my paraffin wax candles with beeswax candles.

The Candles
I discovered a great shop on Etsy, Aziz Light Apothecary, which sells essential oil scented and natural beeswax candles. The shop’s unique scent combinations are what attracted me…Coconut and Lemongrass, Anise and Vanilla, and Clove and Coffee…just to name a few.

I ordered a set of three 8 oz. candles and was able to pick the three scents. I chose Cedar and Jasmine, Rose and Sandalwood, and The Minimalist (just beeswax). I wasn’t sure what to expect since I’ve never purchased or even smelled a beeswax candle before, but I was extremely happy with all of the scents and with the quality of the candles.

Cedar and Jasmine
This scent is reminiscent of a cozy winter night…spiked hot chocolate…tons of blankets…tousled hair…watching movies (in between make-out sessions with a loved one)…in a few words, sexy, cozy, comforting.

Rose and Sandalwood
This scent smells like romance…lingerie…love…sultry and pretty at the same time…and incredibly addictive.

The Minimalist
This unscented candle imparts a light, lovely honey scent…perfect for burning alone to add a sweet, pure smell in the air or for pairing with a stick of Lavender incense.
