7 Days of…Natural Deodorant

There has been so much hype about this little 2 oz. jar of natural deodorant cream. For the past 7 days, I’ve taken Soapwalla’s natural deodorant for a test drive. I purchased the deodorant from The Detox Market with high hopes.

I started looking for an effective natural deodorant ever since a brand of antiperspirant that I was using started to give me underarm pains…AND…I had to practically scrub the skin under my arm raw in order to get the antiperspirant film off every day…that can’t be healthy.

I’m a sweater. Wait, that doesn’t sound right…I sweat more than the norm, so I’ve been a little skeptical about trying a natural deodorant. I figured the fall would be a good time to experiment…not hot, but not freezing either.

The Scent
I would describe the scent as a woodsy floral. I was afraid that the woodsy aspect would be overwhelming, but once I applied the deodorant and let it sink in, I didn’t notice the scent as much anymore.

The Texture
The texture is very similar to regular deodorant and antiperspirant sticks. The application is the big difference. Just scoop out a couple dabs with your finger and rub thoroughly under your arms.

The Strength
For the first couple of days, I noticed a bit of moisture under my arms, but no sweating or odor. By the third day of use, the moisture subsided. I think that my body had to get used to this new, more natural formula.

Overall, I was very happy with the purchase, but I don’t know if I’m a die-hard fan just yet. I plan to try a couple of other brands, as well as a DIY and compare them to see what I like the best. If you’re looking for a natural deodorant, this deodorant cream is definitely worth a try.
