If you’re a 30-something like me and not obsessing about keeping your skin pretty and youthful…bless you. I’m big on moisturizing and am always looking for both effective and economical face and body creams.
A good night cream is a must once you reach a certain age and after my last jar of store-bought cream ran out, I decided to create a DIY version.
I recently discovered a great online store called Mountain Rose Herbs. The store is packed with products that can be used for a variety of DIY beauty recipes. I wanted to keep it simple, so I chose shea butter (raw, unrefined) and mango butter (expeller pressed) to use as my base.
For my recipe, I used the following…
3 tablespoons of shea butter
3 tablespoons of mango butter
1 tablespoon of vitamin E oil (purchased from Trader Joe’s)
Mix the shea butter and the mango butter in a small bowl. Add the vitamin E oil. Mix thoroughly and scoop into a jar (I used an old night cream jar).
Apply every night before bed. A little goes a very long way.
Note: I recommend doing a patch test before using the cream on your entire face.
